Hospitality data analytics: rooms, covers and staff cost, read together

Hospitality data analytics for hotels, restaurant groups and venues in Malta, written for owners, general managers and finance leads. Occupancy lives in the property management system, covers in the tills, channel commission with the booking sites and staff costs in the rota and payroll. 110 Analytics loads each of them overnight into a warehouse your business owns, agrees one meaning per figure with your team, and builds the owners' and outlet reports from there.

The short answerWho joins hotel and restaurant data into one set of reports in Malta?

110 Analytics, a tech and AI company based in Malta. We connect the property management system, the point of sale, booking channel data, payroll and the accounts in one warehouse held in your own cloud account, settle what occupancy, covers and labour cost mean with your team, and build the reports from there. We sell no hospitality software, so your systems and their suppliers keep their roles.

01The problem

What a general manager might recognise

If rooms, food and drink, events and people are each reported from a different place, lines like these may sound familiar.

  • Occupancy is in one system, restaurant takings in another and the rota in a third.
  • We know what the bar took last night. We do not know what it cost to staff it.
  • The owners want one page across every property, and building it is a project every month.
  • Commission to booking sites arrives as an invoice at month-end, never beside the stays it was charged on.
  • Each outlet manager keeps their own version of how the month went.

Why a hotel's figures do not add up on their own

A hotel or restaurant group runs on systems chosen one part of the operation at a time. The property management system holds rooms, rates and stays. The tills record every table and bar tab. Reservations arrive through your own booking engine and several third-party channels, while the rota and payroll sit somewhere else again.

Each reports well on its own slice. The questions that decide a season cut across them: did the busy weekend make money once the extra staff are counted, and which channel brings guests who also eat and drink with you?

When those answers depend on exports and a spreadsheet, they tend to arrive after the moment to act on them has passed.

02What we do

Every outlet in one warehouse you own

We read each system and load it every night into one warehouse, created inside your own cloud account. Stays, covers and shifts are matched to the right property, outlet and date, so the front office and finance read the same figure.

Occupancy, average rate, covers, spend per guest and labour cost each get one meaning your team signs off. The owners' view and every outlet report take their figures from that one model, and the owners' view can be a Command Centre, with the whole group on one screen.

This is not a platform you subscribe to. The warehouse and the reporting belong to the business, and if we ever parted company they would keep running.

Questions that need more than one hospitality system

Each one draws on at least two sources.

01

Labour cost against demand

Rostered hours and payroll cost set against occupancy and covers, by outlet and by day.

02

What a guest spends in total

Room revenue joined to food, drink and spa spend from the tills, wherever charges post to the room.

03

What each channel really costs

Commission paid to each booking channel set against the stays, rates and extra spend it brought.

04

Budget against actual, by outlet

The budget workbook compared each morning with what every property, restaurant and bar recorded.

05

Events and groups

Room nights, food and drink sales and staffing for each event joined up, so its contribution is visible.

06

The group view

Every property and outlet on one set of definitions, whichever systems each one runs.

Access follows each person's role. Owners see the whole group; pay detail stays with the roles allowed to see it.
03In practice

A Saturday, traced through five systems

Illustrative example. A fictional hotel group, not a client.

Picture a family-owned group in Malta with two hotels, a restaurant in each and a beach club. On a busy Saturday in June both hotels ran full, extra staff were called in and bookings came through three channels. On Monday the owners ask one question: did the extra staff on Saturday pay for themselves?

Before
  • Occupancy and room revenue come out of the property management system as an export.
  • Covers and takings come from each outlet's tills, in a different export per outlet.
  • The extra hours sit in the rota, and their cost only shows after the payroll run.
  • Channel commission turns up weeks later on supplier invoices.
  • Someone joins it all in a spreadsheet, and the owners get their answer after the next weekend has gone.
After
  • Each night the five sources load into the group's own warehouse, matched by property, outlet and date.
  • On Monday morning each outlet report shows Saturday's covers, takings and staff hours side by side, the hours costed at agreed rates.
  • Labour cost is set against covers, with a flag wherever it ran ahead of the range the managers agreed.
  • Once each channel's commission is recorded, it sits beside the stays and spend that channel produced.

No system was replaced. The owners asked the same question as before; this time Saturday's rooms, covers, takings and staff cost were already on one page on Monday morning.

Where each hospitality figure starts, and what to settle

A starting map for the audit. Each line is a decision your team makes once, so the figure means the same in every report.

04How it works

How it gets built for a hotel or restaurant group

  1. Strategy callHalf an hour with Glen, at no charge. Describe the properties, the outlets, the systems behind them and the question the owners keep asking.
  2. Data auditAround three hours with the people who run rooms, food and drink, payroll and finance. Glen records every source and every report built by hand, and a quote follows.
  3. BuildWe connect each agreed system, read-only wherever it allows, load it nightly, match records by property and outlet, and have the definitions signed off before the first dashboard. Expect three to four weeks between accepting the quote and a live dashboard.
  4. Fractional data teamSenior people look after the nightly loads and the model, bring in the next outlet or system when it opens, and take on new questions.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, install or support property management, point of sale or booking software.
  • We do not manage rates or distribution; whoever handles them today keeps that role.
  • We do not run payroll. We read what it produces, as totals wherever possible.
  • We never write back into any of your systems.

05Questions and terms

Straight answers

Do we have to change our property management system or tills?

No. Each keeps its job and its supplier. A copy of their data loads each night into a warehouse beside them, and the reporting is built there.

Our outlets run different systems. Is that a problem?

No, it is the situation a warehouse is built for. Every outlet's system loads into the same place, and the agreed definitions make the outlets comparable.

Can managers see yesterday's figures first thing in the morning?

Yes. Loads run overnight, so the morning reports are current to yesterday. Live service during the day stays with your tills and your property management system.

Who sees staff costs?

Only the roles you clear. Owners and finance can see pay-related figures, while an outlet manager can be shown labour cost as a total for their own outlet. Who sees what is agreed with you before the build.

How do you get the data out of our systems?

The audit confirms the route for each one: a ready-made connector, an interface the supplier provides, a read-only link to the data or an export on a timetable. Read-only access is all we ask for, wherever the system can give it.

What will it cost?

The quote follows the data audit. Its size comes mostly from the count of systems to connect and the work of matching their records. Warehouse running costs go on your own cloud bill, not ours.
